Founded in October, 1979 as a Non-profit, Non-Govt. Organisation DURAISAMY GENEROUS SOCIAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (DGSEA), has completed 4 decades of its existence. All through the three decades the Organisation has carefully preserved its basic commitment to the very goals with which it started off, namely empowerment of the children, women and senior citizens and all the people at grass root level, exploration and dissemination of new knowledge, advocacy for legitimate interests of the marginalised sections of the society and more over transparency in its style of functioning. There have been failures and set-backs inadvertent though on different fronts in the matter of translating some visions into reality, but on the whole, has witnessed both the quantitative and qualitative growth of the Organisation. However the Organisation is still haunted by the uneasy syndrome, too many dreams but too less resources.
The Organisation is registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. 1975 in the office of Registrar of Societies – District Registrar, Chengalpattu on 8th October 1979. (Regd. No. 64 of 1979)
The Organisation is registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976 with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India (Registration Number: 075940241)
